The German subsidiary company of Eroğlu Şirketler Grubu, whose headquarters are located in Bursa, Turkey, was awarded with the ‘Großer Preis des Mittelstandes’ (=Grand Prix of Medium-Sized Businesses) by the (German) Oskar Patzelt Foundation.
This most important economical price in Germany was given to the enterprise Eroğlu Präzisionswerkzeuge GmbH and received representatively for the entire enterprise by Mr. Eroğlu Şirketler Grubu on 13 October 2007. By the way, Eroğlu was the only Turkish company among the thousands of participants and the first Turkish enterprise at all, which was honoured with this prestigious price.
For the 'Großer Preis des Mittelstandes' of the Oskar Patzelt Stiftung there were 3011 applications; finally, more than 1000 enterprises, donations and municipalities from the entire Federal Republic of Germany were evaluated according to different criteria. 807 companies qualified for the second round, after which Eroğlu was among the finalists and finally emerged as the winner.
The company Eroğlu had been a candidate for this prize which has been awarded since 1995 for the first time in 2005. In the following year Eroğlu was awarded the Oskar Patzelt Foundation's Finalist Prize as the sixth-best medium-sized company. Just one year later Eroğlu received the ‘Großer Preis des Mittelstands’ much noticed by the European press and could thereby finally place itself into the class of the German top enterprises.
This award was given to Eroğlu Präzisionswerkzeuge GmbH not only because of continuously implemented entrepreneurial modernization measures towards high-tech production, but also for its consistently first-class customer performance, its active contribution to the environment and the support of social and educational activities. In his laudation, Dr. Helfried Schmidt, CEO of the Oskar Patzelt Foundation, emphasized in particular that Eroğlu had assumed an important role as a role model in German-Turkish cooperation.
